Red wolf 2323M was a devoted father and life partner who was tragically killed by a vehicle strike on US 64 in eastern NC.

Our Dedication to 2323M

This site is dedicated to red wolf 2323M. He was a beacon of hope for the species as he and his partner (2225F) became parents to a litter of six pups in 2022, the first litter of pups born in the wild since 2018.  They subsequently became parents to another litter and foster pup in the spring of 2023.  As a partner and father, 2323M was dedicated to his family, providing protection, food, and guidance throughout his time with them. He will be profoundly missed by his pack and the many people who follow this red wolf family’s story.
